Municipality of Lima approves temporarily transferred trains donated to private companies

He Municipal Council of Lima He approved, with 18 votes in favor, an abstention and seven against, the opinion that authorizes the Promotion Investment Promotion Management to make a public auction to temporarily transfer to a private company trains donated by the US company Caltrain.

With this decision, the Municipal Management mentioned will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and approving the basis of the process, defining the period of temporary use, establishing grounds for termination of the contract, as well as other legal and operational provisions necessary to execute the auction.

According to the approved opinion, the Municipality of Lima will officially notify the Comptroller General of the Republic within a maximum period of seven business days since the agreement was referred to the corresponding instances, in compliance with the state supervision procedures.

Once the selection process of the winning company is completed, the participation of the Metropolitan Municipality will end. From now on, it will be the winning company that must directly coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for the implementation of the Lima-Chosic Train Project.

López Aliaga states that it will not be rectified after receiving a notarial letter from Minister Sandoval

The mayor of Lima, Rafael López Aliaga, responded to the notarial letter received from the Minister of Transport and Communications (MTC), César Sandoval, with another in which he announces that he will not rectify in the statements he poured against the holder.

In the letter, the mayor of Lima mentions that his expressions “do not contain defamatory, aggravating or false statements about Minister Sandoval.

“As can be noted, my statements were limited to recounting concrete and verifiable facts, without issuing value judgments or offensive expressions. In that sense, I deny having violated their right to honor or good reputation,” reads the letter.

“The manifestations formulated are protected by the legitimate exercise of freedom of expression and the right to criticism with respect to those who exercise or have exercised public functions,” he adds.
