The Provincial Municipality of Huánuco highlighted the territorial work carried out by social actors and community health agents, which made it possible to serve vulnerable populations and meet the health goals established in the fight against anemia.
The recognition was made for their participation in the fulfillment of Commitment 1, aimed at the care of children, adolescents, pregnant mothers and older adults, prioritized sectors within public health policies.
The manager of Social Development, Marla Berrospi Núñez, highlighted the sustained effort deployed in the territory. “The vulnerable population has been cared for thanks to constant work. Home visits, house to house, have been essential. Thanks to this effort, the goal in the fight against anemia was achieved and the municipal budget was secured,” he said.
From the health sector, Liva León Pagano, representative of the Aparicio Pomares Micronetwork, stressed the importance of articulated and progressive work. “To meet the goals we have been constantly improving. Activities such as Niño de Hierro and the role of the social actor or community health agent have been decisive,” he stated.
Finally, León Pagano expressed his expectation of continuing this joint work. “We hope that in 2026 we can achieve new objectives. The commitment of the local government is important and can be strengthened even further,” he concluded.
