Municipality of Huancavelica will once again hold carpet contests on Palm Sunday

After the agreement reached between several institutions in which it was decided to continue with the organization of the Holy Week activities, from the Municipality of Huancavelica They inform that they will carry out fairs and other economic and tourist promotion.

Among the activities that they have been promoting is the traditional presentation and contest of handmade carpets and mantles on Palm Sunday.

This event follows the journey of the effigy of Christ the Savior of the World from the church of Santa Ana, throughout Manchego Muñoz, Plaza de Armas, Virrey Toledo, to the church of Ascensión. The provincial commune will hold the contest in three categories, families, commercial and social organizations; giving prizes to the first four places from 400, 300, 200 and 100 soles.

Likewise, they will hold a Wanka Willka high mountain biking rally on Saturday, April 9, in the elite and junior categories, awarding up to a thousand soles to the first place.

On Thursday, April 14, they will hold the traditional filming contest, where they will award 400 soles to first place, and on Saturday, April 16, there will be the stateroom contest on the Ichu River.

The economic development manager of the commune, Yonel Romero, reported that the traditional Holy Week fair throughout San Cristóbal will be held with a relocation, scheduled from April 13; while the agricultural fair will be from 14 to 16.
