The announcement for the implementation of the aforementioned project was made in the Green Room of the National Palace by the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Jose Ignacio Beatingas well as the presidents of Fedomu, Kelvin Cruz; from Indotel, Nelson Arroyo; of the LMD, Victor D’Azarespectively, and the representative of the IDB executing unit in the country, George Rock.
They have granted 35 thousand 162 pensions until December 2021
Minister Paliza declared that more than half of the municipalities do not have quality connectivity and that large investments will not reach any town without connectivity.
In that sense, he commented that connectivity today is as important as electricity.
On your side, Kelvin Cruzalso mayor of La Vega, stated that the activity marks a milestone for the country and especially for the municipality, because “it is not possible that we have twenty-six totally isolated and disconnected municipalities.”
He added that under these conditions no investor is going to invest. “We are going to take on this challenge responsibly”.
While the president of Indotel, Nelson Brookdeclared that “this project consists of the deployment of digital infrastructure that allows offering the fixed internet service through fiber optics to the home, in the municipalities that Indotel has identified that do not have fixed connectivity.”
