The municipal councils in the provinces also renewed their directives for the 2022-2023 administration, this Tuesday. In some cases, due to interpretations of the rule or due to a tie, the election was postponed until Wednesday.

In an ordinary session, a vote was taken to elect the new directory of the Municipal Council of Yapacaní, which has, for the most part, councilors from the Movement for Socialism

Councilor Ramiro Peredo from MAS was elected (with five votes) as the new president of the Municipal Council, who will be accompanied as vice-president by councilor Gabriela Rodríguez, also from MAS; finally, councilman Ignacio Campero of MAS was elected secretary of the legislative body.

During the vote, councilor Lourdes Quiroga of the MTC expressed her annoyance, indicating that Peredo had been elected outside the municipal council, which is why she asked that the independence of the legislative body be respected: “I understand that the new board of directors has already been elected by the leaders; They have taken away our right to choose. In Buenavista (extraordinary session) and San Juan (ordinary session) the directories of the municipal councils will be elected this Wednesday. In San José de Chiquitos, the session is also scheduled for Wednesday in the morning.

In the case of San Julián, two councilors from the MAS are seeking the presidency of the municipal council in San Julián and tied in the election of the new board. The new election is scheduled for Wednesday at 9:00.

The Municipal Council of Vallegrande met this Tuesday afternoon to elect the new directive for the 2022 administration, but did not achieve its objective due to the interpretations given to the regulations in force.

Jimmy Severiche, President of the Council, and Councilors José Cabrera and Carola Torrez claim to be the majority, for having won the elections with greater number of votes and, consequently, they argue that only they can run for the presidency of the council.

For their part, Ernesto Villagómez, Magaly Morón and Ana María Vargas, from Democrats, assure that the majority will emerge around the councilor who obtains four votes out of the seven that the Council has. For his part, the MAS councilor, Andrés Morales, remains silent and does not explain his position. The legal adviser of Council assures that the majority has it VPT, for having won the elections with the group led by Mayor Ignacio Morón.

As there was no agreement, a fourth quarter was declared until Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
