The bursts of shots into the air in the Tovar de Cúa sector, in the Rafael Urdaneta municipality of Miranda state, alarmed the residents who called the Municipal Police, whose troops discharged one of the gunmen, on Monday night .
According to the police report, several subjects carrying firearms were shooting into the air, frightening the residents, for which they filed complaints by telephone with the Rafael Urdaneta Municipal Police.
Neighbors said that those who fired the shots ran into a wooded area when they observed the police presence. In the midst of the action, the individuals fired their weapons.
There was a confrontation that ended with one wounded person, who was transferred to the Doctor Osío de Cúa Hospital, where he was treated by the medical personnel on duty, however, minutes after his admission, he was left without vital signs.
The deceased citizen did not carry identity documents. He was called “Yonaiker” and the local police linked him to the criminal gang of the deceased “Cubano”, which operates in the Tovar de Cúa sector.
A Bryco 58 brand pistol, 3.80 caliber, serial No. 1015954, containing five bullets, was confiscated.
The scene of the event was cordoned off by the police who began collecting the evidence of the case.
Experts from the Homicide Investigation Axis of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) also arrived at the scene.
The officials make inquiries to locate the other individuals who were also involved in the event.
The procedure was notified to the Public Prosecutor’s Office on duty.
