Two Municipal Police officers were injured during an ordering operation carried out by the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo in the Damero Wanka, after some merchants violently opposed the removal of structures installed on public roads.
The intervention, carried out early in the morning in the Ica, San Francisco, Piura and Huancas neighborhoods, was carried out by the Economic Promotion and Tourism Management and aimed to free public spaces occupied with awnings, wood, drawers and other items that hindered pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
According to the area manager, René Lazo Rojas, during the operation there were attacks with sharp objects, throwing fruits and water at municipal personnel, events that caused injuries to two agents. The municipality announced that the operations will continue and urged merchants to respect the rules and opt for formalization.
