This July 27, a day before the anniversary of the “fraud” of the presidential presidential ones, there are municipal elections where 335 mayors or mayors will be chosen, in addition to 2,471 councilors. From the ruling party they have made different calls to participate, but opposition matches lament the little dissemination by the National Electoral Council.
The deputy for the change and electoral expert Aníbal Sánchez points out that “it was important to have a good dissemination, not to leave everything to the electoral fair, but also an electoral fair that is clandestine.”
The CNE installed 976 points throughout the country so that the voters familiarize themselves with the charges to choose from. Sanchez points out that many citizens do not know what this Sunday’s elections are, although “it is important that we all go out to vote for those authorities that are part of the municipal public power, which is in more direct contact with the citizen. Although on several rector opportunities of the CNE as Conrado Pérez said that the attack was solved, the portal was never put again online. According to Rector Conrado Pérez, 21,524,126 voters are enabled for the municipalities, of which 21,296,845 are Venezuelans and 227,281 foreigners. Regarding the previous elections, the registry barely increased by 38,000 voters, most of them concentrated in Caracas.
Although the audit was made on June 11, the agency has not delivered the final electoral registry to the political parties, said the deputy and electoral expert Aníbal Sánchez. Jesús Castellanos has said that this reduction in the number of tables together with the decision to incorporate a “popular consultation” for youth, where people over 15 will vote, “aims to create a greater volume of voters in the day (…) in addition to being able to facilitate a new manipulation of electoral participation, as the 25m happened.”
Broken alliances. The so -called democratic alliance, which brings together judicial parties and with representation within the National Assembly, broke the “unit candidacies” that they had led in other processes, as well as the duo a new time – union and change, newly created in the May elections.

Unleashed repression. As in other elections, before the municipal ones there has been an increase in arbitrary arrests of political activists and union leaders linked to the opposition.
