Regarding the incident in which the director of the municipal district the avocado was shot by a traffic officer, municipal authorities call on representatives of local governments to act with caution.
The president of the Dominican Federation of Municipalities (Fedomu), Kelvin Cruz, argued that district directors as well as mayors must be very cautious when resolving a situation in the demarcations.

“Public servants are people who are here to serve, to speak, to talk, to help, and to calm those who are not calm. But we cannot join this wave of violence, of lack of understanding and of prudence”, he expressed.
The official maintained that from Fedomu “prudence, understanding and calm are called for so that local authorities are better public servants”.
While the president of the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), Víctor D’Aza, argued that local authorities should not give way to discussions that lead to situations of violence.
“It is in bad taste that between two authorities there are discussions at that level. We have to continue cultivating tolerance so that this generates more peace,” D’Aza stressed.
The president of the LMD participated together with Kelvin Cruz in the Fourth Electoral Assembly for the formation of more than 70 new Government Integrity and Regulatory Compliance Commissions (Cigcn).
