The city of Chitré and the rest of the communities in the province of Herrera will have drinking water and the agricultural production of the Azuero region will be rescued with a direct support program from the government, the presidential candidate for the alliance of parties reiterated today Thursday. The presidential candidate also highlighted that Herrera would also benefit from the project to reactivate the production of ethanol based on sugar cane, generating strong investments and jobs in this area.
The goal is to once again incorporate 10% ethanol into the fuel consumed in Panama, which would represent 120 million dollars annually that would remain in the local industry.
During a walk through the streets of Chitré with supporters and candidates such as Penelope Nanin, Mulino stated that the lack of drinking water in this community, as in many other parts of the country, is the problem that stands out the most, which is why his work plan under The formula called Martinelli-Mulino is focused on solving it as one of the most urgent tasks.
Mulino explained that for this purpose, the construction of a water treatment plant on the Santa María River has already been identified, with the capacity to supply drinking water to the communities in this area, which has agriculture as one of its main economic activities.
He said that Herrera will once again recover the ground he has requested in the agricultural export of melon, watermelon, and pumpkin, among other products. Agro-export will once again be an important activity, which will generate hundreds of jobs.
