The Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, extended to the comptrollers and directors of audit entities in Latin America the message from the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, of commitment to transparency and the good use of public funds.
During his speech at the opening ceremony of the XXXIII Ordinary Assembly of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS), Minister Orillac highlighted that the work of the comptrollers reinforces the fabric of democracy, and that the Mulino administration supports international cooperation in control matters.
“OLACEFS, as an organization dedicated to the supervision and control of public management, has been a fundamental pillar in the promotion of integrity and the fight against corruption in our nations,” highlighted Orillac.
He also expressed President Mulino’s firm support for the efforts carried out by OLACEFS to strengthen the principles of transparency and good governance throughout the region.
«The fight against corruption is a constant challenge in our democracies. Corruption – in any of its forms – erodes citizens’ trust in their institutions, and weakens economic and social development. OLACEFS has been at the forefront of the battle against this scourge,” he reiterated.
The minister attended along with the designated Comptroller General of the Republic, Anel Flores, and the current Comptroller, Gerardo Solís.
