Mujica is the Uruguayan politician best known by the population. Along with Lacalle, they are the ones who enjoy more sympathy

The pollster Equipos Consultor%es showed this Thursday its public opinion survey in which it was consulted on the popularity and sympathy of Uruguayan politicians.

In said survey it emerged that the former President of the Republic, José Mujica, is known by 100% of the people surveyed, while President Luis Lacalle Pou follows him with 99% of positive responses from those surveyed.

The third best known is the former president Julio María Sanguinetti, with 96%, the fourth is the senator of Cabildo Abierto, Guido Manini Ríos, with 95%.

The top 10 is completed by Juan Sartori (93%), Carolina Cosse (92%), Danilo Astori (91%), Beatriz Argimón (89%) and Ernesto Talvi (87%).

When asked which politicians they felt sympathy for, Lacalle Pou received 47% affirmative answers, while José Mujica obtained 45%.

“Both leaders have a considerable advantage over the rest, of approximately 10 points. In that second step are located three leaders of the Front: the Mayor of Canelones, Yamandu Orsithe Mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosséand senator Daniel Astori are located on the 35% axis. Orsi did not appear among the most recognized leaders, but nevertheless he has a significant level of sympathy”, explained Equipos Consultores in the summary of the opinion study.

Four of the first five positions in percentage of sympathy are members of the Broad Front but, on the contrary, from position 5 onwards, four of five are members of the government. These are: the Minister of Health, Daniel Salinas (31% sympathy); the Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado (31%); the Minister of Economy and Finance, Azucena Arbeleche (30%); the vice president, Beatriz Argimón (28%); and former president Julio María Sanguinetti (28%).

In the other direction, the senator for the National Party, Juan Sartori, has the highest level of antipathy, with 59%, followed by Guido Manini Ríos, with 52%.

Others who enjoy a high level of antipathy “but less than half,” said Equipos, are Pedro Borbaberry, Sanguinetti, and the Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber.

In the environment of 40% antipathy are the FA senator, Óscar Andrade; the former foreign minister, Ernesto Talvi; the Labor Minister, Pablo Mieres; the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse; and the former coalition candidate, Laura Raffo.
