Santo Domingo.-Various sectors of the metropolitan area of the city of Santo Domingoas well as other sectors and localities, suffered a blackout this Monday after the fire in a substation located on César Nicolás Penson avenue in the widening Gazcuewhere the National Palace, seat of government, is located.
However, the Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (Edeeste) reported that for the government house, the Dominican Electricity Transmission Company (ETED) would enable an emergency circuit, while working on the restoration of energy in the affected sectors.
The fire caused blackouts even in the municipality of Haina, on the outskirts of the capital, in the province of San Cristóbal.

The incident also affected several neighborhoods and sectors of the conception area of the Electricity Distributor Company of the South (Edesur), but later it reported that all its affected circuits were already operating normally and that they would continue to support Edeeste.
“Electric service has been completely restored in all Edesur circuits that were affected by the fire at the substation on César Nicolás Penson Avenue, in @EdeesteRD,” the company reported on its Twitter account.
“We will continue to support the sister company, @EdeesteRD, in the recovery from the event that occurred,” he added.
