The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) announced the temporary circulation restriction for heavy load vehicles on the Central Highway during holidays for Patrias 2025, through the Directive Resolution No. 006-2025-MTC/18.
The measure applies to units of more than 3.5 tons of gross vehicle weight in the section between kilometer 23 (Chaclacayo) and kilometer 145 (Pucará populated center).
According to the statement, the restriction will govern in two schedules: from the Friday July 25 at 8:00 p.m. until 08:00 am on Saturday, July 26and from the Tuesday, July 29 from 10:00 am to 8:00 p.m.
The objective is to facilitate vehicular flow and guarantee road safety during the increase in trips through homeland celebrations.
Alternate routes enabled
Given the measure, the MTC explained that there are five alternate routes for the transport of cargo and passengers to the Central Sierra:
- Route 1: Oval Río Seco – Sayán – Oyón – Ambo. Allows light and heavy vehicles, including buses and trucks up to 3 axes.
- Route 2: Huaral – Acos – Huayllay – DV. Cochamarca – DV. Cerro de Pasco. Valid for light and heavy vehicles, with buses and trucks up to 3 axes.
- Route 3: Lima – Sing – Huayllay – DV. Cochamarca – DV. Cerro de Pasco. Enabled for buses and trucks up to 5 axes.
- Route 4: Cañete – Lunahuaná – DV. Yauyos – Huancayo. Allows vehicles up to 3 axes, except two -story buses.
- Route 5: Pisco – Pampano – Rumichaca – PlazaPata – Huancavelica – Izcuchaca – Huancayo. Only for light and heavy vehicles of up to 2 axes.
