the minister of Transport and Communications (MTC) Juan Barranzuela Quiroga announced that they are advancing in the preparation of the terms of reference or requirements to make the public call for companies that want to prepare the final technical studies of the electric tramway for Arequipa.
the mayor of Arequipa, Omar Candia Aguilar met yesterday with the head of the Transport portfolio and requested project speedbut together with the officials of Promovilidad, Barranzuela Quiroga, reported that they are about to finalize the terms of reference and the letter of expression of interest.

It should be remembered that one of the campaign proposals of Mayor Candia was to improve the transport system and its planning was the electric trambut after 4 years, the project is only in proposal with a profile level study.
After the technical study, a tender will have to be made to convene the company that wants to run the tram and in this way complement the Integrated Transport System (SIT) that exists in the city.
The electric tram would have a capacity to move at least 300 passengers and its route of 15.9 kilometers I would contemplate the trunk corridor of the SIT, connecting the north with the south of the city, that is, from Cerro Colorado to Socabaya, passing through the districts of Cayma, Yanahuara, Cercado de Arequipa, José Luis Bustamante and Rivero.
