The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) detected the first case of chikungunya in Montevideo, it is an autochthonous case.
This new case is indigenous chikungunya number 33as reported by Underlined (Channel 10) and confirmed The Observer with ministerial sources. Plus there are others 17 imported casesaccording to the figures of the MSP until last Monday, May 8.

This is the first case registered in the capital and the third in the metropolitan area, counting the two cases of cannelloni in February of this year.
Recommendations of the Ministry
Some advice from the MSP to avoid contagion of these diseases are: control possible breeding areas of the mosquitosuch as containers that accumulate water; use repellent whenever you are outdoors, especially in the morning and at night; and sleep in places with mosquito nets.
In addition, when faced with symptoms such as fever, joint pain, muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue and skin rash, make a medical consultation.
