MRA does not deliver documentation on asphalt plant

Carolina Aranda, liberal mayor of Mariano Roque Alonso, announced last Friday the inauguration of a “Municipal Asphalt Plant” for G. 6 billion. However, for its start-up, another G. 4,000 million are needed only for the purchase of inputs.

«In the company of deputy Marcelo Salinas and the councilors who accompanied us, we made the inauguration. In this way, Mariano Roque Alonso becomes the third city in the Central department with its own asphalt plant.

This is something very significant for us and especially for me who had to endure many months of streets in poor condition, “he said during the opening ceremony.

It should be remembered that Deputy Salinas is also Aranda’s husband.

Ricardo Torres, a resident of the city and member of the “Civil Association of Citizen Audit in Mariano Roque Alonso”, denounced that despite the high amounts, the mayor has not presented documents that justify the sums.

“It’s crazy, for more than 30 days you have an audit of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) and now they pay these millionaire sums without explaining,” he said.

CRITICS

The communal chief lamented that she received a lot of criticism for allegedly “doing nothing in her duties.” In addition, she announced that this week she will finalize the Bidding Terms and Conditions (PBC) for the call for tenders for the purchase of supplies for the asphalt plant. “We have to withstand the pressure” Deputy Salinas asked me and we endured. On this historic day we are receiving these machines from a very large investment that ranges over G. 6000 million that we are investing in these machines. This is a process, first get permission from MADES, to reassure the neighbors that it is not polluting. The plant will not harm health. From 30 days this will come into operation », she expressed.

The main arteries will be the first to be refurbished; Félix Bogado, General Garay, Gral. Díaz and Mcal avenues. Lopez.

«There are also going to be complying with the neighborhood commissions with which we have committed. We will make their cobblestones and street improvements », he concluded.

IRREGULARITIES

The commune was denounced on more than one occasion for irregular management. The complainant was Ricardo Torres himself.

One of the complaints was last October, the municipality generated expenses higher than what was deposited in cash. The total income of the commune was G. 1,433 million.

While expenses reached G. 1,858 million. That leaves a difference of G. 423 million. This same situation already occurred last August, where expenses (G. 2,143 million) exceeded income (G. 1,580 million), leaving a negative cash balance of G. 563 million.

“We see that all the collection generated by the municipality is destined to cover current expenses such as salaries, hired technical personnel and others. There are no resources left, to allocate capital expenditures such as improving the condition of our streets full of potholes, cleaning weeds in vacant lots, paving streets that are still dirt and improving squares, ”he said at the time.

Aranda was reelected in October of last year.
