The Public Prosecution Service in São Paulo reported on Monday (27) to court 12 people by association with the first command of the capital (CCP). Among the accused are three lawyers and former leaders of the non-governmental organization (NGO) Social Pact & Prison, who were investigated and arrested during the outbreak of Operation Scream Fake.
THE Operation Scream Fake (false scream) was held on January 14 and served arrest and search and seizure warrants in the state capital and in the cities of Guarulhos, Presidente Prudente, Florida Paulista, Irapuru, Presidente Venceslau and Ribeirão Preto, in the State of Sao Paulo, and in Londrina (PR). For investigators, the NGO that worked with prisoners and people egasted from the prison system worked as a facade entity, supporting members of the criminal faction.
The investigation began three years ago, after a visitor tried to enter President Venceslau’s 2 -year -old Penitentiary with memory cards hidden in the clothes. The items were seized and analyzed, as well as detainees manuscripts, which pointed to the criminal practice of CCP sectors, which were divided into nuclei called “ties” (lawyers), “health” and “financial”. There was also the sector called “claims” which, according to investigations, was responsible for promoting popular manifestations and “unfounded denunciations” to destabilize the judicial system. It was in this sector that the NGO was active, calling for demonstrations and firing lawsuits, police said.
The “ties” sector was led by lawyers, who provided legal assistance and managed other areas of the CCP. The “Health” sector, in turn, recruited doctors and dentists to provide care within prisons to the leaders of the criminal organization, being paid with resources from criminal practices managed by the “financial” branch.
During the police operation, the court also ordered the suspension of NGO activities and the withdrawal of its contents from social networks. Through a note published the day after the operation, the NGO said it was surprised by the police action. “It is important to clarify that our NGO acts in a transparent and legal way, always based on respect for human rights and the search for solutions to the problems faced by detainees and their families,” he wrote.
Last week, police said the material seized during the operation proved the bonds between the NGO and the CCP. “With this new information, the investigation confirmed that the NGO in question was created and was maintained by the faction,” said the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP) at the time.
