The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) of Acre made a recommendation to the city of Rio Branco (AC) to include the participation of civil society, social movements and the LGBTQIA+ community in the discussions that precede the composition of the LGBTQIA+ Municipal Council.
The recommendation is signed by the regional attorney for Citizens’ Rights, Lucas Costa Almeida Dias, who stressed that the Federal Constitution ensures the participation of society in the processes of formulation, monitoring, control and evaluation of social policies carried out by the State.
The MPF document gives a period of 15 days, after receipt, for the city of Rio Branco to inform whether or not it will accept the recommendation. The MPF warns that failure to comply with the recommendation may result in the adoption of legal measures.
