This Wednesday four people out of the 23 declarants testified available to the Public Ministry to confront the alleged embezzlers of the National lottery during the fraud of more than 500 million pesos carried out on May 1, 2021 through a draw in which number 13 won in front of the television cameras.
“There are already six witnesses who have confirmed all the factual propositions of the Public Ministry, they have demonstrated the facts of the accusation that indeed the fraud was executed within the National Lottery with the number thirteen”, expressed the coordination of Litigation of the Public Ministry, Mirna Ortiz.
The prosecutor clarified that the acting witnesses revealed how the fraudwhat maneuvers were made.
He indicated that everything was well armed, from the television cameras to prevent the public from observing what was being done.
Many of these witnesses were also owners of lottery banks, who have stated the million-dollar losses caused by the alleged fraud.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office will continue from now on with the presentation of the remaining witnesses and the accreditation of the documentary evidence, to complete the testing phase of the prosecuting body.
The alleged orchestrator of this fraudthe former administrator of the National Lottery, Luis Maisichell Dicent Last December, he managed to get the court to accept the end of his preventive detention and now he remains under house arrest.
Dicent spent 18 months and several days in the Najayo jail. He now continues the process from his house located in the Monseñor Nouel province.
In addition to the ex-administrator of the Lottery, they are involved in the fraud William Lizandro Rosario Ortiz and Eladio Batista Valerio, who are imprisoned in Najayo.
Also implicated are Valentina Rosario Cruz, Jonathan Brea, Carlos Berigüete, Felipe Santiago Toribio, Edison Manuel Perdomo Peralta, Miguel Mejía and Rafael Mesa, who have different measures of coercion, such as house arrest, periodic presentation and impediment to leaving the country.
The case is also linked to the fugitive Leonidas Medina Arvelo (Nazareth).
