This is Edilson José Torres Fernández, 52 years old, who worked as an active official of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), and who had been detained since December 11, 2025, by order of the 2nd Control Court with jurisdiction over Terrorism of the Caracas Metropolitan Area, within case 2CT-S-133-2025, related to criminal activities detected by State security agencies.
The information was announced by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, through a statement published on his official account on the social network Instagram, where he points out that in response to these events, the intervention of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps and the 13th Human Rights Prosecutor’s Office was ordered, who determined that the citizen presented a sudden health decompensation, for which he was immediately transferred to the healthcare center, entering with vital signs and being treated. promptly by medical personnel. However, he suffered a cerebrovascular event followed by cardiac arrest, which caused his death.
