At the time of Paraqueima’s arrest, Saab stated that there were more investigations against him than the defendant, one since October 31, 2022 for alleged violence against women; and the second started on March 20, 2023 for alleged threats against merchants from El Tigre

In this way, continue express process against Paraqueima, who in a matter of just three days was accused, arrested, presented, transferred and charged by the authorities.
At the time of the arrest, Saab stated that there were more investigations against him about Paraqueima, one since October 31, 2022 for alleged violence against women; and the second started on March 20, 2023 for alleged threats against merchants from El Tigre.
Despite the fact that one of the complaints had accumulated more than six months, the MP’s diligence began after an audio from the mayor criticizing the mural went viral on social networks.
Paraqueima was arrested on the afternoon of Thursday, May 4, by officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin). Hours before, the National Assembly elected in 2020, with an official majority, approved an agreement to request the MP criminal and administrative actions against the mayor, including his political disqualification.
Shortly before his arrest, Paraqueima stated in instagram posts that the viralized audio had been “fixed” and that “some things that were not meant to be said” were taken out of context.
