Movistar responds to criticism from fans who could not watch the playoff match in Peru on their app

Hundreds of users used social networks to express their discomfort at not being able to watch the playoff match between Peru and Australia through the Movistar application. Given this, the telecommunications company came forward to make a clarification regarding the transmission via streaming of the match that gave access to the Qatar World Cup 2022.

Through a statement, Movistar He clarified that one day before the match, he informed his subscribers that they did not have the rights to carry out an online transmission of this match.

Likewise, he pointed out that, since last May 31, he published in different communication media that the Peru vs. Australia would only be available in Movistar TVsince it did not have the authorization to be transmitted through the app.

This Monday, June 13, several people were left with the desire to enjoy the game of Peru playoff heading to Qatar 2022 through their mobile devices, and expressed their discontent at being surprised with a message in the application.

“Dear user: Enjoy the playoff game on the Movistar TV service through the Movistar Deportes signal on frequencies 3 (SD) and 703/(HD). Movistar does not have the authorization to broadcast the playoff match on the Movistar TV APP platform”, concludes the statement.
