The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) reported this Saturday that, as of September 29, the National System of Drivers (SNC) will allow applicants to obtain a motorcycle driver’s license to do so in any provincial municipality in the country. This within the framework of the integration process of the class B certificate and the implementation of measures to combat corruption and fraud.
This announcement was made known during a meeting held by representatives of the MTC, through the different directions of road safety and transportation, with representatives of motorcycle users in the country, with the aim of evaluating measures that generate greater control in the issuance of class B driver’s licenses.
The Obtaining a driver’s license for motorcyclists in any province of the country, which was previously regulated by the MTC, is in the process of implementationand addresses the concern expressed by this community about the existence of a regulation that prevented carriers from obtaining driver’s licenses in other provinces.
Pedro Olivares, director of Road Safety of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, participated in the meeting, as well as technicians and specialists from the General Directorate of Policies and Regulation in Multimodal Transport, General Directorate of Transport Authorizations, General Directorate of Information Technology, Office for Dialogue and Social Management, and directors of the motorcycling community.
Validity of class B licenses was extended until December 31
Likewise, MTC officials reported the extension until December 31 of the validity of class B driver’s licenseswhose maturity occurred between January 1, 2020 and July 30, 2022.
In the same way, the commitment to specify the integration of the process of obtaining the class B certificates to the National System of Drivers throughout the country, a measure that will allow standardizing the quality of drivers of this type of vehicle, facilitating the control of the validity of licenses by the National Police of Peru and other control entities.
