Motorcyclists and Mayor reach agreement on barbecue ban

After the meeting between the leaders and spokespersons of the different groups of motorcyclists in Bogotá, together with the mayor Claudia López, the commander of the metropolitan police gr. Eliecer Camacho and other district authorities; they announced five modifications against the restriction of the barbecue, which had generated demonstrations and protests in recent days.

Another of the modifications has to do with the entry into force of the restriction, since in order to make greater pedagogy The district decree will now come into force as of next Monday the 18th.and not this April 11 as had been initially contemplated.

Additionally, agreement was reached on the visible identification of the motorcycle plate, its use in a vest will no longer be compulsory, but It can be worn either in the helmet, or in the jacket, or other garment of the motorcyclist’s choice (it will not be mandatory in more than one garment)as long as it complies with the measures established in the decree and be visible to authorities and security cameras.

It was also agreed the strengthening of the support networks of motorcyclist groups in coordination with the Bogotá Metropolitan Police to prevent and report acts of insecurity, a monthly review of the effectiveness of the measure, and a meeting in June to assess whether the restriction continues.
