One more death due to the rains was recorded in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The victim is a motorcyclist who was dragged into the Verde River and drowned, this Saturday (28), according to information from the Fire Department. The case occurred in the Cidade Líder district, in the east zone of São Paulo. Five vehicles and a helicopter were sent to the scene, but the man was already found dead.
The other death was recorded on January 16. A 46-year-old man died after a tree fall on the house where he lived in Vila Lucélia, in Santo André, in Greater São Paulo. The Fire Department reported that it received a call for help the night before and found the man unconscious and trapped in the rubble. He died on the spot.
Floods
Until 4:30 pm yesterday (28), during the rains that hit the capital of São Paulo and part of the metropolitan region, there were 21 calls for falling trees, three calls for landslides and 14 for floods, in the north and east zones of the capital of São Paulo .
Around 4 pm, the entire city of São Paulo was in a state of attention for flooding, according to the classification of the Emergency Management Center (CGE). The highest volumes of rain were registered in the neighborhoods of Butantã (46.3 mm), Freguesia do Ó (43.2 mm) and Pirituba (33.6 mm).
Forecast
For today (29), the forecast is for a predominance of sun and high temperatures, with a maximum of 31ºC, according to CGE data. In the late afternoon, with the combination of heat and sea breezes, areas of instability favor the formation of isolated showers, with moderate to strong intensity.
The São Paulo City Hall management center points out that, until 7 am this Sunday, the average accumulated precipitation in the city is 179.3 millimeters (mm). The volume represents almost 70% of what is expected for the month, which is 257.1 mm. In January, there were 26 days with rain. The average for the month is 25 days with precipitation.
The last days of January should continue with typical summer characteristics, with sun, heat and rain showers, especially in the afternoon and at night.
