Brazil sold 94,654 new motorcycles at retail in April. The result is 2.1% lower than that recorded in March, but 13.8% higher than the total traded in April last year. In the year, sales totaled 382,380 units, 27.4% more than in the same period in 2021. The data, released today (12), are from the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Motorcycles, Mopeds, Scooters, Bicycles and Similar (Abracyclo).

Many people chose the motorcycle to escape the agglomeration of public transport and to use it as a work tool, working in delivery services. More recently, there are those who chose the modal to circumvent the constant rise in fuel prices”, highlighted the president of Abraciclo, Marcos Fermanian.
The production of the motorcycle industry closed the month of April with 112,678 motorcycles manufactured, which represents a retraction of 7.8% compared to the same month of 2021. Compared to March, there was a drop of 17.4%. In the first four months of the year, production was 439,817 units, a volume 22.3% higher than in the same period last year.

The volume of motorcycles exported in April was practically the same as in March: shipments totaled 3,946 motorcycles, two units more than the previous month. In relation to April 2021, when 4,276 motorcycles were shipped to the foreign market, the segment registered a drop of 7.7%.
In the first four months of 2022, exports totaled 14,533 units, which corresponds to a retraction of 16.7% compared to the same period last year.
