Within hours of being born, a baby’s life was cut short by his own mother, who hit him on the head with a stick. The incident occurred in Sucre on December 24, the woman was apprehended on Tuesday night.

“The multidisciplinary team of the Felcc (Special Force to Fight Crime) is constituted in the Burbujas area, Huata street in order to verify the murder of a newborn child, a few hours old,” said the director of the Felcc de Chuquisaca, Hugo Alarcón.

The authority reported that the forensic doctor, together with officials from the Public Ministry, indicated in their diagnosis that the cause of the baby’s death was due to closed head trauma and multiple trauma.

In this case, the woman accused of infanticide was apprehended around 7:00 p.m.

According to the Éxito radio report, the baby’s body was discovered by the owner of the house where the woman lived.

The man noticed that the earth was removed and that there were traces of blood around it, so it was discovered that the baby was buried in plastic bags.
