A mother and her son lost their lives after a lightning strike in the district of Ascension, in Huancavelica.
On the last day of January, at around 3:30 p.m., at the Weccacchocha ranch in the Callqui Grande community, a loud and loud electric shock struck two people, causing their instant death.
The victims were identified as María Javier (40) and her son with initials FDJ (03).

Subsequently, and upon learning of the death, the mayor of Ascensión, Oscar Ramírez Trucios, came to the aforementioned community with help for the bereaved.
Among the help that the burgomaster brought were blankets, mattresses, basic necessities, cooking, among others, so that they can help themselves during these times.
In the same way, Ramírez Trucios also promised to find a job for the husband of the lightning victim, who is left in charge of two minor children, and lacks a job that gives him the solvency to raise the children. .
“I call on the Regional Governor of Huancavelica to implement the lightning rod project not only in the high Andean communities of Ascension but also in the region, as this will save many lives” were the words of the district mayor.
