The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, announced Thursday that he will shorten his visit to South Africa and return to Ukraine before, after new attacks left at least eight dead in kyiv and more than 70 injured, according to a revised balance of victims by the authorities. In Telegram, the Ukrainian presidency accused the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, of having “just wanting to kill” and, on social networks, Zelenski asked Moscow to cease his attacks “immediately and without conditions.” The head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Andriï Sybiga, declared that these Russian night attacks showed that Vladimir Putin “wants to continue war.”
Tensions between the United States and Ukraine

Zelenski reacted reminding Trump the position he took in this regard in his first term: “Ukraine will always act according to his constitution, and we are totally sure that our partners, and in particular USA, will act in accordance with their solid decisions,” he wrote in Telegram, accompanying his message with a link to a statement that made in 2018 the then Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.
In this statement it is read that “no country can change the borders of another by force.” The text also says that the United States refuses to recognize Kremlin’s sovereignty claims over territories conquered in violation of international law.
