Morgue workers in Anzoátegui evaluate decreeing zero hour due to poor conditions

Corpses decompose faster, contaminating the entire space and its surroundings. “No one can force a worker to expose his health and work in unsafe conditions, without any type of hygiene as stipulated by current regulations”

The prevention delegate of the Dr. Luis Razetti hospital in Barcelona, Junior Murillodenounced this Monday, April 3, that the morgue workers are about to declare zero hour, due to the poor conditions in the area.

He assured that the cellars have been damaged for more than two years and, given the high atmospheric temperatures that currently exist, the corpses decompose more quickly, contaminating not only this space, but also its surroundings.

“The smell is already unbearable. It is causing disorders and diseases to the health workers of the care center. We make an urgent call to the authorities to find a solution to the problem or the staff will be forced to close the practice, because no one can force a worker to expose their health and work in unsafe conditions, without any type of hygiene as it is stipulated by the current regulations,” he said.

Murillo affirmed that the leaders of the Movement of Health Workers (Motrasalud) have denounced this irregularity on several occasions, in different governments and, according to him, none have provided them with solutions.
