The INE, months before Sheinbaum’s Electoral Reform is presented, will be deducted one billion pesos.
The parliamentary groups in the Chamber of Deputies registered more than two thousand reservations to modify the opinion of Budget 2026 tomorrow, during the discussion in particular, in which they will reallocate 17,788 million pesos.
Ricardo Monreal anticipated that it is not expected to increase the spending that will be allocated to the security branch by 2026, and those that will benefit from the reallocations are education, culture, conservation of natural areas, agriculture, science and technology.
In the midst of the general debate on the 2026 Expenditure Budget opinion, dominated by the opposition’s demand for more resources for security and for states and municipalities to strengthen municipal and state police, Monreal ruled out more resources for that area.
“Security is covered because remember that what we had said about the National Guard that is transferred to National Defense takes part of the budget, not all, because Defense still has a percentage that is not complete for the National Guard,” he said.
Monreal reiterated that they will subtract resources from the Judiciary, which in 2026 requested more than 15,000 million pesos for next year.
This will not put at risk the settlements established in the Judicial Reform, which must be guaranteed for judges whose assignment was concluded in advance, Monreal said.
“These resignations do not uncover priority areas (…) They do not uncover. I believe that the resignations that have been made have been well studied. And in the case of the judiciary, compensation is guaranteed. They are guaranteed,” added the legislator.
