After Sonora Santanera, the Morena bench in the Chamber of Deputies wants more bailongo in the venue: now Sergio Mayer Bretón is in talks to invite Los Ángeles Azules in November, as revealed by Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, his bench mate.
The PAN members took advantage of the platform to criticize the Morenistas who left the session on Tuesday to go to the dance. “The first notes were already beginning and they didn’t want to be late for the dance,” said Luis Agustín Rodríguez. And Héctor Saúl Téllez stated that Morena “shamelessly celebrated the tax increase and the tragedy in Veracruz, to the sound of Santanera.”
Criticism of the party was combined with the remote appearance, on Monday, of Cuauhtémoc Blanco in a session of the Budget Commission, and his response that he exercises while legislating because “my heart needs it.”
Yesterday, the coordinator of the cherries, Ricardo Monreal, pointed out that there is a call to the deputies of his bench to fulfill their responsibility, and anticipated that next week all the legal regulations of the Chamber will be reviewed to guarantee the presence, when essential, of legislators.
And on Tuesday, in addition, 20 deputies brought a chocolate cake with candles to the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, to his truck.
It was a “gesture of friendship and identity with him; it did not prevent the appearance, and La Sonora, Sergio Mayer had told me something, that it was recognition for his artistic work, but you have to look for the most appropriate moments…”
Gutiérrez Luna said in an interview that he did leave the session, but that he danced with his wife, Karina Barreras, “just a little song.”
Recognitions such as the one made to Santanera “must be done more often in the Chamber… Sergio Mayer was speaking, who is in talks with Los Ángeles Azules so that they can come and also give them recognition for their musical work in popular culture, and incidentally, that they play some songs,” he expressed while raising his eyebrows.
He even considered that it could be opened to the public, with a capacity limit reviewed by Civil Protection.
