From Morena and the opposition is already worked on the initiative on forced disappearance of President Claudia Sheinbaum in order to include mothers, so Senator Guadalupe Chavira de la Rosa proposed to create a National Citizen Search Council so that relatives of the absent are followed by investigations.
The State policy headed by the president It is in favor of the victims; Therefore, the Senate must incorporate the proposals made by the groups
. In his opinion, there must be the opening to listen and feel the pain of those who have lost a loved one.
It should be heard, he insisted, to the groups of victims by disappearance, because it has been a subject of the left and the president herself has shown her disposition by opening the dialogue table in the Ministry of the Interior.
The Secretary of the Commission of Legislative Studies stated that through this National Search Council the civil society, organized in groups, would participate in the investigations, since It is undeniable that they have proven to be more effective than the authorities to find the remains of missing, in many cases, such as the discovery in Teuchitlán
.
The Morena Senator explained that in that agency he proposes, in addition to the representatives of groups, to forensic experts and human rights organizations to follow up on research.
He added that it is necessary to strengthen the search actions of missing persons in the country, with permanent audits to local prosecutors, negligence sanctions, as well as the use of artificial intelligence to identify disappearance patterns, suspicious locations and possible extermination sites
.
The opposition in the Senate also has alternative proposals. The Senator without a party Manlio Fabio Beltrones presented a reform that gives the groups the status of auxiliaries within the National Personal Search Commission and the creation of a National Forensic Data Bank with a specialized area in DNA identification.
For his part, the Senator of the PRI Pablo Briceño presented in the session last Thursday an initiative to reform articles 4 and 9 of the General Law of Victims with the aim of legally recognizing the seeking mothers and their groups as direct victims of crimes and human rights violations.
It is proposed that relatives of victims, such as mothers, fathers, children, grandparents and brothers, are considered direct victims and that these groups also enjoy full legal recognition, with access to comprehensive measures of protection, attention and repair by the Mexican State.
