The Senators of Morena will be able to enjoy from this Monday of two more weeks on vacation, since it will be until the end of August, when their plenary meeting is held, prior to the start of the ordinary period of September 1.
According to versions of legislators, the coordinator Adam Augusto López Hernández, authorized that rest of rest to senators and senators who decide to take it, since, as he advanced, the next period of sessions, which is the first of the second year of the legislature, will be intense, since they must vent the pending initiatives of President Claudia Sheinbaum and the others that he already announced.
The possibility of vacation does not include the nine titular senators before the Permanent Commission, who must participate in the last three sessions that remain to that body of the Congress that operates during the reins, although they could agree with their substitutes.
In fact, since the beginning of the permanent, in May, on several occasions the headlines left their place to those who supply them, as was the case of Senator Javier Corral, who has been seen little in the sessions of that organ.
Some legislators had to postpone their summer vacations for the extraordinary period, which was carried out from June 23 to July 1, in which they approved 11 secondary laws of constitutional reforms in terms of security, national guard and telecommunications and broadcasting, among others.
It was hard work, with sessions in two cases until dawn and strong confrontations, so at the end, most returned to their states or went on a trip.
One of them was Senator Cuauhtémoc Ochoa, who asked for a license day, to marry, he could then go from honeymoon.
In this way, three weeks after the new period starts, it is that López Hernández authorized to take advantage of those who require it the next two weeks, since later an arduous legislative work awaits them.
Safety laws are priority
Among the slopes to relieve are two initiatives of President Sheinbaum in security matters: the one referred to combating the crime of extortion, and another regulatory of the judicial reform, in terms of providing justice and new ones that he has already announced.
The allies of the PT and PVEM have not been seen much in the Senate since July.
Green senator Luis Armando Melgar got very angry when he leaked a photo of his stay in Italy, held Morenistas responsible and said that as a television businessman he is, the trip paid him with his resources.
As regards the opposition, the PAN coordinator, Ricardo Anaya, took at least two weeks of rest in the United States, after the extraordinary period and Luis Donaldo Colosio, of MC, did not even attend it.
For a long time, the possibility of legal modifications has been discussed, so that Congress will work more time and reduce this second recess that goes from May 1 to the last day of August, because there are four months of inactivity.
