The National Executive Committee of Morena met yesterday to evaluate the results of the electoral process and begin to chart a course for the renewal of its leadership.

According to those attending the meeting, the National Congress is scheduled to meet in the second half of September to take over.

The Morena party members considered two scenarios: electing only the party’s president and general secretary – whose terms end in October – or renewing the entire CEN, since out of 13 portfolios, 10 of its holders will assume other positions and, according to the statutes, they should not have double functions.

The Morena president, Mario Delgado, reported that they evaluated the tasks we have in the future as a party.

The route for the renewal is expected to be defined next Wednesday.
