Morena informs in assemblies about the electoral reform of López Obrador

Morena began yesterday the informative assemblies on the constitutional reform initiative in electoral matters promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The initiative seeks a substantial change in the electoral sector and annual savings of 50 billion pesos, according to the amount disclosed this Saturday in one of the government party’s spots.

The proposal also includes a reduction in election officials; promote electronic voting, that the people choose the electoral authorities, instead of political parties, as well as a decrease in advertising on radio and television, among other points highlighted in Morena’s messages.

The party held assemblies simultaneously in the 32 states of the country, with the phrase the electoral reform goesand also celebrated the fourth anniversary of the triumph of President López Obrador.

Mario Delgado, national leader of Morena, led the assembly in Mexico City and said that the goal of the reform initiative is give more democracy to our democracy.

Regarding the 2024 elections, he stressed that that year we are going to play the continuity of the Fourth Transformation. For this reason, he asked his colleagues to be united and more organized than ever.

At the end of this month, Morena will elect its 3,000 congressmen who will renew their management bodies and basic documents on September 17 and 18, with the prospect of strengthening themselves towards the 2024 election.

Delgado said that four years after the victory of President López Obrador, it is very gratifying to see that the country is experiencing, as the president promised, a profound process of transformation.

Then he recounted the main public policies of this government, as well as the constitutional guarantee for its validity; for example, the pension for 10 million older adults, which will reach 6 thousand pesos (bimonthly) at the end of the six-year term, in 2024.
