They show “political muscle”
Without it being an electoral season, Morena sought to exhibit its “political muscle” and its capacity for mass mobilization of people in the Grand Closing of the National Tour, the first of the new party leadership headed by Luisa María Alcalde and Andrés Manuel López Beltrán.
To do this, political leaders and deputies from all mayors mobilized thousands of Morena supporters, who arrived in dozens of trucks and minibuses.
“Newly admitted” Morenistas, such as former PRI members Cynthia López Castro and Silvia Sánchez Barrios, as well as former PRD member Víctor Hugo Lobo, were present at the event and managed to bring in hundreds of supporters from both the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office and Gustavo A. Madero. .
For this reason, streets and avenues near the Plaza de las Tres Culturas such as Paseo de la Reforma, Flores Magón, Eje Central and Manuel González became huge parking lots for trucks with Morena sympathizers.
Already in the Plaza of the Three Cultures, the groups of militants were organized by leader, deputy or mayor, who distinguished themselves with banners and flags with the names or insignia of each leadership. Unlike other events, on this occasion there were no batucadas, but there were batons, noisemakers and bugles.
The figure of former President López Obrador was also present, either in the famous talking dolls, stuffed “Amlitos”, and even in the form of a piñata.
Although the event was scheduled for 2:00 p.m., several Morenista sympathizers arrived very early, so the sun wreaked havoc by the time the party leaders arrived.
All the streets near Tlatelolco such as Eje Central, Reforma and Flores Magon became parking lots for buses transporting thousands of militants who will participate in the closing of the national tour of the new Morena leadership.

Those attending the event sought to cover themselves from the sun, either with caps or their own flags with the names of their leaders and even with the Decalogue for Morena authorities, a sheet that was distributed among all attendees, which they had to sign and deliver to their leaders. By the time the event finally began, several militants began to leave the Plaza de las Tres Culturas.
