Morena and PAN star in battle in San Lázaro; they are accused of drug trafficking

The trial of Genaro García Luna in New York sparked a confrontation between the Morena and PAN benches in the Chamber of Deputies, who accused each other of links to drug trafficking.

Entangled in the anticipated dispute towards 2024, both benches paraded the names of officials allegedly related to organized crime, but also speeches of anticipated victory in the presidential election of that year.

Given the disdain of the PAN for the validity of the testimonies that have been presented against García Luna, because they are revelations from cartel bosses, the vice coordinator of Morena, Leonel Godoy Rangel, released: “that is what it is about, a trial between drug traffickers and his accomplices. From the ranks of the PRI, José Guadalupe Fletes pointed out the criticism towards the use of the rostrum for lawsuits that in no way contribute to Mexicans to mitigate their needs for water, decent medical service or stop the forced disappearance of young people.

PAN member Jorge Triana Tena sought to involve current government officials with organized crime, especially those who collaborated with García Luna in the past.

In addition, he said, all the witnesses in the trial of the former Secretary of Public Security in Calderón’s six-year term, they are delinquents.

To answer the cries of Zavala, Zavala! that arose from the cherry bench, Triana brought up again, that former PRD deputies, now in Morena, introduced “in their car a drug dealerbrother of a governor who is from Morena today”, referring to Julio César Godoy Toscano.
