The Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Chamber of Deputies will meet this Saturday so that the Morena party and its allies present to the opposition the proposals that they accept of the 12 that were made to them in relation to the electrical reform.
The meeting – which is extraordinary in nature – was convened by the president of the Jucopo, the PRI Rubén Moreira, at the request of the parliamentary coordinators of Morena, PVEM and the Labor Party, and will take place two days after the United Energy Commissions and Constitutional Points analyze and approve, where appropriate, the draft ruling on the electricity reform. As of Thursday, the majority bloc had accepted nine of the 12 proposals and was reviewing the remaining three.
In this context, the Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) party yesterday joined the position of the opposition coalition Va por México -made up of PAN, PRI and PRD-, of voting against that initiative, arguing that it does not seek to lower the price of electricity, nor accelerate the transition to clean energies or improve the conditions of competition.
However, Morena pointed out in a video that she has found coincidences with other political forces so that the population pays less for electricity. There are no pretexts or reasons to vote against the initiative, said the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, and the general secretary of the icing party, Citlalli Hernández.
In their message, they highlighted that they expanded the proposal to benefit the population with lower or preferential rates. In particular, they stated that 43 million families, 3.2 million small businesses, 2,046 municipalities, 300 drinking water operators, and 134,000 agricultural societies that group 5 million peasants will be favored.
Three days after the electricity reform ruling is discussed in the plenary session of San Lázaro next Tuesday, Gutiérrez and Hernández stressed that the current ones are moments of definition and that the deputies were elected by the people and owed to them.
impose an ideology
MC indicated that it presented 14 alternatives to address the problems of the national electricity sector, but Morena refused to discuss them. The President’s proposal does not seek to improve any of these conflicts, but rather to impose an ideology, the results of which, if approved, would harm the country, he estimated.
The party insisted that the initiative has no vision of the future. Endorsing it would be compromising the health of future generations, damaging the environment, public finances and the economy of millions of families who will see the increase in the electricity rate up to 52 percent.
Meanwhile, PAN and MC deputies participated in a Space-Twitter, organized by social groups, where they reiterated that next Tuesday they will go to San Lázaro to vote against the reform. Among them were Santiago Creel Miranda, Margarita Zavala and Patricia Terrazas.
The PRI members also used social networks to ratify that they will be present at that session, like the leader, Alejandro Moreno.
On Tuesday, President López Obrador is going to be defeated, because the 199 deputies of the PAN, PRI and PRD are going to vote against it, predicted Creel Miranda; However, the Morenoist Aleida Alavez announced that legislators from the Aztec sun attended the informative assembly on the reform that took place in Iztapalapa, which had not happened before.
In this scenario, the National Front in Defense of the Electricity Reform called for a mobilization from the Zócalo to the Chamber of Deputies for April 12.
