Over there Carlos Tomás Morel Diplan next to the Archbishop Francisco Osoria and Monsignor Benito Ángeles, auxiliary of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingomeant that the hope and gaze of society must be placed on Jesus Christ and that is why the Father invites us to be pilgrims of hope and walking towards peace.
Family: It’s hope
“On this day when we celebrate the feast of the Holy Family and the Holy Innocents as well, the family is a sign of hope, although many have placed hope in economic well-being and left aside the main institution, the human being, which is not a political party,” he said.
Morel Diplan, accompanied by auxiliaries and other religious, insisted that attention must be paid to the family, because when it forms or educates a human being, it contributes to society; Just as when you see a persevering couple living their relationship faithfully it is a sign of hope for society, just as when they work they contribute with their good example it is a sign of hope that is why it should be a joy when a family member gets married. However, he said there are people who are inventing the opposite. In the homily he highlighted that Pope Francis invites us to be a sign of hope.
Prisons
“Prisons should be a sign of hope, it is not yet understood that at this stage there are prisons in the country where human beings live overcrowded… I have had to see situations that I say are unfair and unworthy, that is why evangelization, if it is not bathed in hope, how can we evangelize in those places, they are human beings who have to be respected and cared for, that is why when one leaves some prisons one believes one is in another land,” he narrated.
He commented that everyone must work for peace, which are signs of hope. He said that Pope Leo XIV insists and promotes that there be peace in the world, but when those who have the power of decision do not do it and use it to harm, the opposite happens, however, peace is needed.
He said that it is necessary to open up to service, without obstacles.
SeNaSa Case
He deplored the SeNaSa case, and regretted that health and hospitals are instrumentalized to take advantage and enrich themselves of a group of people, and that kills anyone’s hope.
“When those who have the great privilege, the great opportunity for others to have life and health, limit it and take it away from them, we have the hope that one day we will have a good health system in which everyone can go to a hospital and find the necessary care,” he exclaimed.
The Coadjutor Archbishop also deplored the death of young Perla Jocasta who lost her life in La Ciénaga, as a result of a stray bullet. It was about a young woman whose mother had placed her hope in her and they blinded her life.
“Our young people are the present and future, and we must take care of them, above all by giving them a good testimony of honesty, service and honesty. I am sorry for so many young people who want to progress and develop, but are not given the opportunities or they are not given it, I hope that one day it will end and that no one will have to use a political hook to get their first job and that they have the opportunity.”
He added that this jubilee is not just another year, but a call to conscience to live in Christ.
Jubilee Year
The Jubilee Year 2025 is an ordinary event of the Catholic Church, celebrated every 25 years, focused on hope and reconciliation under the motto “Pilgrims of Hope”, a call for spiritual renewal and global solidarity in the wake of conflicts and crises. The ceremony invites the faithful to a time of grace, forgiveness, and to rediscover God’s mercy in a world in need of faith and union, with pilgrimages to Rome and the possibility of obtaining plenary indulgence.
On December 24, 2024, Pope Francis’ call for the Jubilee of 2025 began, while the Ordinary Jubilee will be definitively closed on January 6, 2026, the solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, when Pope Leo XIV closes the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
