Palmyra native and nationalist leader Henry Llobera is the new Workshop Director of the Municipality of Colonia. He is in charge of the maintenance and repair of all the machinery and vehicles of the commune.
During the pandemic he served as Workshop Manager for a year and in November 2023 he assumed a position in the spare parts area. On September 5, he was appointed Workshop Director, a position of trust of Mayor Carlos Moreira.
His appointment arose after the resignation of the then director Hugo Durán, on August 27.
Llobera told EL ECO that for him it is “a tremendous challenge for one’s age (72 years old), but I always liked working in the Municipality.”
“Moreira had offered me the direction more than 30 years ago” and I had not been able to take over. This month it was finally named.
To take charge of the Workshop, he asked the community leader for “a salary that was worth it, his support and someone else to help me with the numbers issue, above all, which is what I don’t handle, because I have no problems with machinery. “He told me to put together the team I wanted”
“It is a challenge because the mayor’s machinery takes a lot of work, many jobs are derived outside, you have to deal with private workshops, so it is quite an issue.”
“This week I informed Moreira that we did a job in the workshop where we saved money, on some truck railings we saved 77 thousand pesos and he was delighted with life,” he said.
