As explained by the Foreign Minister, the president has on agenda the signing of a free trade agreement with Indonesia.
Schialer added that the request for permission for the presidential trip was not processed before, waiting for the election of the new board of directors of the Congress, which José Jerí now chairs.
At 31 months after his management, the president has made 10 trips abroad, the first of which went to Brazil, in August 2023, to participate in a meeting of heads of state subscribers of the Treaty of Economic Cooperation.
Subsequently, he has traveled to the United States, Germany, the Vatican, China, Switzerland and Ecuador, being the most recent his visit to France by invitation of that country, Emmanuel Macron.

Through Office No. 231-2025 -PR sent to the President of Congress, José Jerí, President Dina Boluarte, has requested absent from the country between August 5 and 12, 2025, on the occasion of two official high -level visits: one to Japan and another to Indonesia.
This request is formalized through the draft Legislative Resolution No. 11986/2025-PE, backed by technical, legal and logistics reports.
The president seeks to travel to Japan from August 7 to 9, to participate in the “Peru Day” at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. In addition, it will hold bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shigeru Ihiba. Likewise, he will hold an audience with Emperor Naruhito, and commercial promotion and investment activities.
In Indonesia, where it will be on August 11, it will arrive in a state visit within the framework of the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries and hold bilateral meetings, signing of agreements, and meeting with authorities of Parliament and ASEAN.
