According to his words, doctors from the General Calixto García Clinical Surgical University Hospital noted in his medical history that “it is not feasible to operate on him while he is imprisoned” because the recovery process would take several months, and given the prison conditions. the patient would run the risk of being disabled.
González Miranda is currently 37 years old and is a resident of the Carraguao council, belonging to the Cerro municipality of the capital. González Miranda also explained that he has a bruise on the L4 and L5 vertebrae.
This situation was corroborated by the activist and political prisoner Yuri Almenares Gonzalezwho also stressed that the prison authorities refuse to approve an extra-penal license for González Miranda.
The delegate of the Movement of Opponents for a New Republic (MONR) also emphasized that the inmate does not have the stability to walk and is also suffering from severe cramps in his feet and persistent pain in the spine. He also reiterated that since December 5, 2020, he has not received any medical attention, not even palliative care, despite the fact that the injury makes it difficult for him to get off the phone and prevents him from going out to sunbathe.
Almenares González added that Deivis Alberto González Miranda declared a hunger strike since Monday, April 24, demanding treatment, and pointed out that the prisoner’s situation is known to the head of the building, Major Leonelvis Jardi Baró, as well as his deputy. , Major Alioski Kindelán, and the head of Internal Order, First Lieutenant Erislaidis Castillo Gaínza; but none of the officers do anything about it.
