Violence is specified in various types, from physical, psychological or emotional, sexual, economic and gender
The director of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), Douglas Rico, reported that to date this investigative body has managed to prosecute more than two thousand people for violence in the country.
“During multiple investigative procedures carried out by Cicpc officials, the location, arrest and disposition of the Public Ministry of 2,286 people for violence have been achieved,” Rico said on his social networks.
It explained that violence is characterized as an act that causes physical, sexual, or mental harm to a victim, including threats of such acts, coercion, or arbitrary deprivation of liberty.
He explained that violence is specified in various types, from physical, psychological or emotional, sexual, economic and gender.
“In all the conditions that it generates for the victims, they are often fatal, since, through them, in the case of women, they unfortunately culminate in femicides,” he stressed.
Faced with this reality, the commissioner calls on citizens to report any act of violence to start the corresponding investigation process.
For this, the Cicpc has its offices available 24 hours a day, to assist and advise those who are victims of these events.
