It was officially known that The narcotic was allegedly owned by the National Liberation Army (ELN) and came from the Catatumbo region. which was hidden in an underground structure prepared for the storage and subsequent shipment to illegal routes bound for Central America and North America.

The operation, carried out by specialized Police units, allowed the cargo to be secured without casualties. The authorities highlighted this point by pointing out that the action was developed under a tactical scheme that prevented people from losing their lives.
