More than ten hours completes the Heroica without drinking water service, due to the rupture of two main pipes in the Emmanuel sector of the capital of Bolívar.
The Aguas de Cartagena company reported that it is in place and only until Saturday will the service be restored.
It should be noted that for this reason a contingency plan was activated, where it was necessary to carry out a logistical preparation, preparation of the land and movement of machinerytogether with contractors, brigade members, who intervened in the damaged networks after the pipe ruptured.

At the site, located in the southwestern area of the city, the damaged segments were identified, corresponding to two 1,000 millimeter raw water pipes and the expulsion network from the Las Colinas tank.
According to waters of Cartagena, The causes of these emergencies were triggered by the instability of the terrain due to the heavy rains that have fallen on the city. This situation left approximately 58% of the Cartagena population without drinking water.

The technical manager of Aguas de Cartagena, Ober Paternina, pointed out that they continue to make progress in the corresponding repairs, which are 43% advanced. From ten in the morning of this Friday, October 14, the service was suspended.
“We are repairing the two thousand-millimeter main pipes, one for raw water and the other for drinking water, which occurred on the access road to the Antonio José de Sucre neighborhood. Given the complexity of the damage, it is estimated that only until Saturday was the repair fully achieved. We have around 20 people working on site continuously on site,” Paternina noted.
