On May 4, 2020, the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT) presented its first automated procedure: the driver’s license renewal. Two years after its launch, more than half a million licenses have been processed, being the procedure with the highest demand from users.
A total of 665,300 license renewals have been requested and paid through the web portal www.intt.gob.veand sent to users’ mail within 24 hours, to be printed in color and laminated, INTT press release review.
This is how electronic government has become a reality, which has brought government services and procedures closer to all citizens, who, from the comfort of their home or work, can obtain their vehicle documentation without having to go to a government office. INTT, nor the bank to make a deposit, this has managed to reduce the influx of users in the venues and protect a valuable resource such as the time of each Venezuelan.
Security elements present in the Driver’s License
The INTT since 2017 implemented the use of the QR Code in its documentation, this being one of the security elements present in the driver’s license. This code can be scanned with the INTT application for mobile phones with Android operating system, which is available for free download on the official web portal. www.intt.gob.vethe following data being visible: citizen’s identity card number, names and surnames, license grade and expiration date of the driver’s license.
The INTT will continue advancing in technological matters regarding its procedures and services, together with the Great Venezuela Transport Mission, led by Minister Hipólito Abreu.
