More than a thousand Colombians will be able to study Data Science at no cost until they find a job

Data has become very important in organizations and, therefore, professionals who are capable of interpreting and making decisions based on information have begun to be more demanded.

In colombia, According to the EY Colombia Organization, the data science market is growing at rates close to 30% per year, which has implied a greater need for digital talent. In fact, according to the job search engine Indeed, in 2021 the demand for professionals specialized in this field grew by 50% in the health, telecommunications, entertainment, banking and insurance sectors.

And it is that in LinkedIn alone, jobs related to data science increased by 64% last year. In addition, in said professional network, 66% of the vacancies for engineers and technology profiles are currently looking for people with knowledge, skills and abilities in Data Science.

Other figures from the Public Employment Service confirm that at the moment in Colombia there are 3,702 offers for 6,480 jobs that require profiles with knowledge and skills in data science. Bogotá, concentrates 72% of the offers (2,658); Medellin, 502 (14%); Cali, 155 (4%); and Barranquilla, 111 (3%). Of these job opportunities, 37% offer salaries to be agreed upon; 17%, between $3 and $4 million; 13%, between $2 and $3 million; and 12%, between $4 and $6 million.

As in web programming, profiles related to Data Science are also in high demand, which is why studying in this discipline is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to get off the ground in the tech world,” said Martín Borchardt, CEO and founder of the edutech.

The interested, they will be able to start studying at no cost and pay only when they graduate and get a job with a good salary.

What is the call about?

Henry’s Data Science Career is for anyone willing to take on the challenge of entering the world of data and mathematics. He targets people who have always liked numbers, who are highly analytical and enthusiastic about working with large databases and starting a high-growth tech career.

Graduates will join a job market that is increasingly attractive in Latin American countries. According to the Talent.com search engine, today the average salary for a data scientist in Colombia is $48,714,276 per year, $24,982 per hour and $4,059,523 per month. It should be noted that, according to the level of professionalization, salaries range between $31,800,000 and $84,292,920 per year.

How long is the show?

The program lasts five months full-time, from Monday to Friday, during which time students will learn the fundamentals, technical knowledge and the use of tools to manage data during its life cycle. In addition, they will master the Python programming language in depth. Classes will be held 100% online and live with instructors.

How many stages is the program divided into?

The course is divided into three stages: the first is a three-month bootcamp, to become familiar in a theoretical and practical way with the concepts that will allow them to start programming and become data scientists; the second stage, Henry Labs, which consists of putting into practice everything learned with the construction of real-world projects and under collaborative learning; and the third, Job Prep, a module that is given simultaneously to the other stages of the career where you can acquire tools to enter the world of work.

How to sign up?

The only requirements are: be 18 or older, have a high school diploma and have a computer with good internet access. Previous experience is not necessary.

The first thing that those interested should do is enter www.soyhenry.com and fill out the short form that will appear. Then, they will have to sign up for the Henry Challenge, a technical challenge in which they will be tested on basic concepts of Python and mathematics.

“People don’t need to worry if they don’t have prior knowledge as we offer a free online Python and math basics preparatory course that will give them the foundation they need to successfully complete the Henry Challenge,” said Borchardt.

After passing this exam, people will be onboarded, a process in which they will be registered and registered for the next available cohort. “The first course starts soon and the next one we aim to start at the beginning of May. Registration is now open. We aim to launch new cohorts every month, so they can sign up whenever they want,” added Borchardt.
