After 40 days of having carried out the 2022 Census throughout the country, complaints by census takers that they have not yet received the payment of $6,000 that the Government promised them.
the staff who was in charge of carrying out the survey in 15 million dwellings warned that, despite what was agreed, many census takers They still haven’t been paid, so they demand a solution to their demands.
In this regard, the INDEC (National Institute of Statistics and Censuses) clarified that some census takers they already received the deposit, however, they do not know how many of the 700 thousand people who participated in the 2022 census have already received their fees.
However, the Institute explained that the delays in the deposits are mainly due to the fact that, in order to make the payment, it was necessary to verify the data of each of the volunteers.
“There are more than 700,000 people who must be paid and, prior to payment, the fulfillment of the tasks had to be certified to ensure payment to the corresponding people. There are already census takers who have been paid,” they indicated.
In addition, the INDEC assured: “The payment resolutions and the payment orders have already been signed: the Banco Nación is making the transfers and other orders are in the General Treasury of the Nation.”
This, given that the agency made an agreement with the bank in which the latter undertook to “prove the payment through current accounts, savings accounts located in branches of the bank or in other entities that are part of the Argentine financial system” to each one of the census takers.
How much did the Government allocate for the salary of census takers?
The Government made an investment of $14,000 million to carry out the 2022 Census; of these, $4,360 million went to printing and digitizing questionnaires, $4,000 million went to mail and $400 million to kits for the staff who carried out the survey.
In addition, $5,500 million were allocated to finance the salaries of the more than 700,000 census takersradio bosses and faction bosses who participated in the census.
